hi I am about to buy a makita (are they good drills by any chance?) drill, the compact ones. I noticed the compact Li-ion batteries are 1.5 Ah is it possible to use the other regular Li-ion batteries on the compact makita? like the full size li-ion battery (3.0 Ah)?

it is 18v li ion.

I need to cut a 1/4 inch wide by 1/2 inch deep channel and would like to spend as litle as possible on new tools.
I wonder f there is an attachment I can use with a standard cordless drill?

I have no plans for drilling, I just want a cordless power screwdriver to unscrew/screw things..
I have a electrical outlet that needs replacing, however one of the screws on the mounting plate was screwed in very very tight, definitely couldnt budge it with a hand screwdriver. So I need one that has enough power to get it to turn, but also not be so cheap that the battery dies immediately. At the same time I need to be price cautious..
Im going to a hardware store, Im shopping online, much cheaper... and I have dont use it much I need cordless because I will be shutting off the electricity completely.

Is such battery exist?

For a short duration (10 seconds), very high current drain (1 - 2 Amp), but still maintaining low self-discharge rate (70% or more within 1 year).

For example, Rechargeable AA NiCd / NiMh great for high current but mediocre self discharge. Non-rechargeable Alkaline / Lithium AA has virtually no self discharge, but does not withstand very high current drain.

The perfect battery is supposedly Rechargeable Lithium-Ion (which is used in new generation cordless power tools (drills, etc), but IS AA SIZE (PENLITE) RECHARGEABLE BATTERY EXIST, YET?

Otherwise what's best the AA alternative?

I heard Sanyo's Eneloop isn't good if being used for very high current, is this correct?

I have a black & decker and a skill. Both 9.6v. The batteries look identical except for the name of course. Is it safe to use a charger from one or the other instead of 2 differant chargers? Will it be safe to use the batteries in the opposite drill?

Alright I went to OSH today and bought a craftsman drill that was normally like 100bucks and got it at 50... So now I'm wondering whether or not I got a good tool... The only tools I've ever used were Ryobi and Black and Decker and they didnt have any of either of those at the store... So... Whatcha think? Is Craftsman a good tool?
