The drill works great I have two batterys but no charger I have look in e bay for one with no luck. It looks like I will have to buy the whole set. I have found a battery but no charger. Is there any charger that would work with that battery?

I need it for drillinmg through concrete and chimneys.

There is a major price difference between Ni-Cad and NiMH. I heard that Ni-Cad operate in a variety of temperatures, hold their charge longer, are cheaper, but they have the dreaded memory effect. NiMH don't have the memory effect but they are more expensive, lose their charge quickly but I hear they have a higher capacity.

I want to get the Panasonic EY6405FQKW 12-Volt Ni-Cad 3/8-Inch Cordless Drill/Driver Kit but I don't know if I should invest in Ni-Cad

BTW is this a good drill for general house repairs?

Thanks

I have just started woodworking and would like to start a cordless collection. I'll start with the basics: drill, circular, palm sander, router. Can you all recommend a good brand. I know Dewalt is top of the line but it is out of my price range. My father has a small set of Ryobi 18v and seems happy with it. Is this a good set? Please also recommend some other necessary tools. I have several hand tools: screwdrivers, plyers, clamps.
I'll probably start building simple projects: bookshelves, a ladder for a bunk bed, a child's drafting table.

Does anyone know a good place to buy nice drill bits? I’m short of time because they are needed before next Saturday.
Thanx for the help!

More specifically the batteries of cordless drills. I have a brand name one but both of the batteries it came with have lost it's ability to hold a charge. It is only about a year and a half old also. Replacement batteries are expensive! Is there a trick to revive them?

Hi guys.

I have just bought a new Makita 18V Li-ion cordless impact drill - for an arm and a leg. I decided fork out for something that will last me for years (with sensible battery rotation) for regular trade use. I haven't use it yet.

My local hardware shop is having a Dewalt sale soon, where I could take it back for an 18V 3Ah (NiCd) impact hammer drill.

Is anyone in a position to directly compare the two?
Is there a difference in performance and/or build quality?

There's almost no feedback out there on the new Li-ion Mak's, and certainly no comparisons with other brands, like Dewalt.

Cheers.

I just purchased a Coleman cordless screwdriver that has an Ultracapacitor instead of a rechargeable battery. It recharges in 90 seconds. Does anyone out there know any other product that uses Ultracapacitors in products in the marketplace?

Yankee no longer exists, but was bought out by Stanley Tool

My cordless drill Bosch 12V comes with two batteries so I can be recharging one while you use the other. But actually both of them do not hold a charge between uses. I know that many people who have cordless drills buy new batteries and it cost them about - each. But I've also been thinking about rebuilding both batteries for each. Or I may just throw my cordless drill away and find a new cordless drill for sale. I may buy a new 14V.
What do you think?
