I own my own house and sometimes I need to do odd jobs around the place. My brother bought me a drill for Christmas. Anyway, my flatmate/border keeps borrowing my drill. I've used it twice the past 8 months and he uses it every week. Since he's been using it, the case of drill bits have all rusted. My flatmate told me this happens to all drill bits and that they would have rusted eventually. Not sure if he's telling me lies because I'm a girl and he thinks he can get away with it or doesnt want to buy me new drill bits. Or, if it is true and I shouldn't worry about it. He's leaving next month and I'm worried I will be left with useless drill bits.

I wasn't sure where to post this question but anyway, I am looking to purchase a new drill for my husband for Christmas but I'm not sure what to look for when buying. Is there much difference btwn these 4 drills? Which would be better? Also if you have better recommendations that'd be great too. Thanx!

Thanx everyone....ummm except "cindy h"...no, not ALL men love Craftsman. My husband prefers DeWalt just as some of the guys here... As for asking me...Ralph Lauren or No Boundaries...well I'd have to say neither.....Wish I could give most of all the rest of you guys 10 points as you've all been very helpful. Thanx much!

I am looking to buy my father top quality drill bits for Christmas. Of course they would be for drilling holes into wood (with either a drill press or a power hand drill), and they need to be really heavy duty. I'm just looking for regular drill bits that are really good quality and will last a few years. Any info you can provide me on types (carbide, steel, etc.) would be great too.

I was interested in getting a cordless drill for my husband for Christmas since his fizzled out. It's just for home use. (He's not a carpenter or anything like that.) Anyway, can I get some opinions about drills you own or use whether they're great, good, bad awful. Also, do they all come with different sized drill bits? If not, can you buy any set of them? Are they interchangeable. Will the ones my husband had for his old drill fit any drill?? I'm looking to spend less than 0!!
Thanks for your advice!
No, Thomas, I never asked about drills before, but thanks for the advice.

I want to get my mom a cordless drill for Christmas and I know nothing about them. She does a lot of building jobs here at hom, usually going through nothing bigger than a 4 x 4.
Will this drill do the job?

Its a GREAT deal and I am going shopping tomorrow so I need to know. Thanks
I'm only 16, and the 4 things I am getting her come to 121 dollars. There is NO way I can spend 138 dollars on one gift.

my husband has a Dakota set. But I wanted to get him a DuWalt for christmas. Mike Holmes uses them so I guess they're good.
It's far more expensive that a mastercraft & I have no Idea how much a dakota one is.
any advice would be much appreciated.

My husband has asked for a cordless screwdriver for Christmas - I don't know anything about them (neither does he) and there are hundreds of them. It would be used for general household DIY but I know he would like it to be good quality. I've tried searching in on-line etc. but nothing came up that was really helpful...

I saw a commercial a month or so ago about some kind of nifty small tool that is maybe a cordless mechanical hammer or drill or something like that. Thought it was Black and Decker and tried to call and ask but they were no help. Need a Christmas present for husband. NOT a regular hammer drill- it was kind of like Black and Decker small adjustable screwdriver but that was not it.... PLEASE HELP!!!
