I am drilling out a camshaft to put a grease fitting clutch on the kids go-kart. The shaft IS THE HARDEST thing I have ever tried to get through. Is there a certain type of drill bit that I can get to get through the shaft? I've tried some of my best bits and they don't do ANYTHING to it. Thanks (Something at home depot perhaps?)

I need a rock drill to rig drops in caves.?

My dad has a dewalt cordless drill but i dont know if I can use it to drill through rock. Would any drill work as long as I had the right size and right drill bit for the job? All I need to do it drill a small hole in a rock so I can put a bolt anker through the rock so I can rig my rope for repelling into the rest of the cave.

How can you easily drill though concrete?

I bought concrete drill bits in the past to fasten the a threshold to a concrete slab. The drill bit went in about 1/4 in and went dull. The drill bits are expensive. I used a cordless and corded drill. But I got the same results. Now I want to work on a bigger project on my concrete deck. What tools an materials can I use to drill holes to anchor some 6x6 pressure treated uprights to the concrete slab? I want to build a pergola but don't want my drill bit budget to be the same as the lumber and hardware budgets.

I tried this carbide tip drill bit from Home Depot and it got only 1/4" deep after 5 minutes. Maybe a specialty store for diamond drill bits or something??

What drill bit should I use for a #6 screw?

I need to use a 2-inch #6 screw. I looked it up online and I found just one website that said I should be using a 3/32 drill bit, but that drill bit looks way to thin. The 1/8 or the 5/32 bits look more like it, but I'm not sure which one I should use.

Ive been using larger masonry bits to make drainage holes in heavy ceramic pottery (which has no holes in it); sometimes I'm sitting on the drill for 5 minutes before it even makes the smallest hole. I can swear I did this a few years with much better ease - but, I have no idea what type of drill bit I used. Not trying to drill thru terra-cotta or anything like that - but, like heavy ceramic - such as what a heavy coffee mug or hefty soup bowl would be like. Thats what Im trying to plant some funky bulb plants into and I must have good drainage? Any ideas???
