I have a Ryobi compact drill and noticed the reviews on the Ryobi drill bits are not so great.
I am thinking to get a different brand if possible.
The set that Ryobi makes is (Ryobi Speed Load Plus 17-Piece Titanium Drill Bit Set) from Home depot
I am looking for a do it all kind of set but will mostly be drilling into my walls which are some are stucco & some brick I also will be using on wood. Will not be doing metal so much not sure if a 4v drill can do that. I'm new to this so any advice helps. Thanks

Do drivers only have the ability to screw in things? Can you use drill bits in them also, or do you need to have a drill/driver combo?

I own my own house and sometimes I need to do odd jobs around the place. My brother bought me a drill for Christmas. Anyway, my flatmate/border keeps borrowing my drill. I've used it twice the past 8 months and he uses it every week. Since he's been using it, the case of drill bits have all rusted. My flatmate told me this happens to all drill bits and that they would have rusted eventually. Not sure if he's telling me lies because I'm a girl and he thinks he can get away with it or doesnt want to buy me new drill bits. Or, if it is true and I shouldn't worry about it. He's leaving next month and I'm worried I will be left with useless drill bits.
I want to drill small holes in metal, plastic, ceramic, etc so that I can add a link to make charms. I need to solder as well. I need info on the supplies/accessories needed (what I need for soldering and drill bits needed) Thank you so much!

I'm tired of stripping drill bits made of crappy alloys. I'd like some that are made of quality material, but I don't have a fortune to spend on them. I don't need a ton of different bits; maybe just a few sizes of Phillips and standard drivers, and a few drill bits. What's a good product?
What are the shank diameters of MegaBore Drill Bits?
Does the MegaBore drill bit require a specially designed shaft for MegaBore bits?
I have a 1/4" diameter extension (4.5 feet), and I want to know if this bit will fit without any other special MegaBore extensions.

I got an email response from LSD. It looks like I will need to get a 7/16" Connecting-Hole MegaBore Shaft, which is 1/4" in diameter, and then connect the MegaBore Shaft to the regular 1/4" flex extension.
Email Response:
"Hello,
The 7/16” Hex, is the standard size for similar bits.
Thanks

Today I had two cavities filled. While waiting, after I was given shots to numb my mouth, I noticed that two drill bits were sitting on the counter(not on paper or in case). This seemed odd to me, but I decided to not comment hoping that they would be sterilized before being used. When the dentist came in she grabbed one with her bare hands(hadn't put her gloves on yet) and put it in the drill. It looked like she had touched the part that actually comes in contact with your tooth. This bothered me, but I felt awkward causing trouble over it when I didn't know for sure it was an issue(I also have some social anxiety). She seemed to use other bits too, but they came from a plastic case.
Am I right in thinking that she shouldn't be handling them with her bare fingers?
Is it likely I could catch anything from that(Assuming and hoping no)?
I'm scheduled for another visit on Thursday. This is a new dentist for me. I went to her cause I had left my old dentist and my insurance is running out at the end of the month. I still need some more fillings, so would be too late to change dentists again.
I want to hang curtains at double french doors. I have drilled a little hole with a masonary bit but it won't go in the wall very far. Sounds like i'm hitting metal so i suspect there is a lintle over the doors. If i drill through the lintle with metal drill bits will it weaken the lintle. It is only one little hole, at the other side i seem to be able to manage with a masonary bit.
Need to do some work around the house and need to drill into wood, bricks, and maybe tiles. I have a regular electric drill (no hammer mode). The old HSS drill bits set are dull. So I am in the market looking for a set of good value and good quality multi use drill bits set.
So far I have seen on the web - Bosch multi-construction set, and Artu muti use set.
Anyone has experiences in using these drill bits? Or if you have used other brands?
Note that my electric drill has no hammer mode.

I have a 3/8 " drill. What size drill bits would work in that drill? Can I use a drill bit that is less than 3/8. Can I use a drill bit les than 3/8 up to 3/8. Would it work if I use a bigger drill bit like 1/2 inch?
What does it mean a drill si 3/8 is that measuring the circumfernce or diameter. Does 3/8 mean the maximum drill bit is 3/8
