craftsman has a lifetime warranty, any problems, bring it in to kmart/sears and they'll replace it.
I have an old 14.4v craftsman drill that finally kicked the bucket, but I don't think they make them any more. If I took that dead into kmart, would they upgrade me to a 19v or downgrade me to a 12v?

Sears doesn't make that particular one anymore. I was just hoping someone new of another place that might sell it by chance

Charging cordless drill batteries
I have a new Craftsman 12.0 volt drill with no charger and a Ryobi 12.0 volt drill with a charger look alot like the same drill but not perfectly i thought that maybe the Craftsman was maybe made for Sears by Roioibe but they don't fit the same in the charger .. what would happen if I made a set of jumpers to hook the Craftsman 12.0 volt drill to the Ryobi 12.0 volt charger will it work or will it go BOOM ??

I want to buy my husband some tools for our anniversary .... He loves craftsman tools and I was thinking of getting him a new screwdriver set, since he doesn't have a full set. He already owns a compound miter saw, air compressor, impact tools, sockets, 19.2 volt cordless drill and add ons, cobalt blue 3 tiered craftsman tool box, circular saw, jigsaw, router, chain saw, table saw, saw horses and a ton of tools in the tool box... Do you think any of these would make a good gift...Im lost as to what to get him, I want to get him something he likes and will use...not something dumb like a pillow case with my picture on it LOL

I'm trying to pick out a tools combo for my bf. He planning to use them around the house, should prob. have drill, screwdriver, saw, sander and i don't know what else he'd need. I'm trying to get a good set that worth the price. Maybe lifetime warranty would be good too. I'm looking at couple different brand (makita, craftsman, dewalt, firestorm) and different set, but not sure which to pick. Any suggestion would be great. I never buy tools before so not really sure what to look for. Cordless maybe? Let me know what's a good value set tool combo?
what brand provide lifetime warranty for tools?
how's firestorm compare to craftsman brand?
or what do you think about this set: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00911514000P?vName=Tools&cName=Portable+Power+Tools&sName=Custom+Combo+Kits?

My uncle just bought a new cordless screwdriver, and he gave me his old one. The reason he got the new one is because the old one, the 3 prongs that grip the bit 2 of them are broken. Will I be able to take this to sears and get it replaced or get parts to fix it? Its several years old, but don't all Craftsman products have a lifetime warranty? or even if they won't replace it where can i get parts to fix it?
did u need a receipt for it? cause this is probably 3 years old n i have no receipt
bart s lol good idea haha

I have misplaced the manual and was wondering how long does it take to reach a full charge? There is no light on either the charger or the drill itself.
Thanks everyone for your great answers. I may just take it into Sears (a trip I've been trying to avoid!) and see what they say. I've only had it for a few years. I asked for and got it for my birthday. Odd gift, I know but I have to do for myself or it won't get done. Hard being a single woman in a man's world.

I am looking to buy a nice drill and bit set for my husband for Christmas... but have NO IDEA which brands are trustworthy when it comes to power tools.
Which would you recommend? I do not shop at Sears, so please don't say Craftsman.

I have a bunch of dull drill bits (ranging in sizes from 5/8" up to 1"). They are the new type with a screw tip so they pull themselves through the wood as you drill. But whenever I drill and hit a nail with one of them, it's ruined. Does Sears make a spade bit sharpener for this purpose?
